The imposing drum tower overlooks the Zhongshan Xi Lu crossroad with Zhenming Lu.  Though the tower itself is interesting, behind it lays a network of streets full of shops, stalls and restaurants.  In a single afternoon a visitor can indulge in some of Ningbo’s famous sea food, purchase a few of those all-important souvenirs and enjoy a relaxing drink in one of the bars in the area.
